My First Jersey Dress

I have not enough dresses. I know, I know... that's what every woman says :). So I decided to make up for this deficiency and to sew a jercey dress. I chose the pattern from La Mia Boutique magazine 2/2010-4 published in Russian magazine "Шитье и крой" (ШиК) 1/2011-4.

This was my first time of sewing jersey. Besides reading my sewing books I found this video very helpful.
I don't know how tall is the model that shows the dress but for my height of 163 cm I had to shorten the pattern by 17 cm. Following Burda instructions I took away twice 1 cm of the top and 15 cm of the skirt.

Here is the result.

Spring Leaves Hat

I finished with winter knitting and here is my first knitting project for warm season. I would say it's a transition project because it is still a hat but a lighter pattern that complement my demi-season coat.

Palm Leaves Blouse

Digging in my wardrobe I came across this UFO. It was cut and half-stitched. I was curious how many years it sat in the stash so I made a little research and found out that the pattern is from 8/1990 issue of Burda magazine. 20 years!! I always liked its palm leaves print, I think this is the reason I didn't get rid of it for such a long time.

Now in the mood for spring cleaning and decluttering I decided to finish this blouse. I can't say that I am very happy with it but I like shawl collar amd thinking about sewing a modern version of such blouse.

Matryoshka Suit (Skirt - New Look 6594)

Here is a skirt I made to complement my summer jacket. Instead of  pre-planned pencil skirt with godet I decided for a New Look 6594 pattern, wide plait skirt. View E made from border fabric.

I always avoided full skirts because was afraid of looking bigger and now I think that I missed so much *lol*. I love this pattern and would definitely use it again. I would love to make all other views as well.
When I started with this suit I was aiming on something casual but the final result looks umm.... I would call it rather  ornamental. When wearing it I feel like traditional Russian toy Matryoshka *lol*. After so many years of wearing businesslike suits it feels really nice :-)

Me in Matryoshka suit :-)
Some more views of the skirt and the suit. At the end of the day I don't have to wear it as a suit but can use them as separates.

Till next time :-)

Long Vest - Junghans-Wolle Modell 228/0, Damenweste

The pattern is in German but the chart and blueprint are very clear. I used Orlana Magic yarn 50% wool, 50% acryl, 490m/100g. It took just a little bit more than 200g. Needles # 3,5 for the main part and # 3 for edging. The description is free and could be found here Modell 228/0, Damenweste aus Bamboo-Cotton
True colour is at the second picture. It is not grey but beige with rosy shade.

This winter I made mostly headwear/neckwear garments. This vest is the only one "big" thing I've  done.
I still have in plans two small neck/head things to do before moving to summer knitting.

Yesterday I watched again a wonderful French film "Ensemble c'est tout". I have it in my collection and this is a movie that always helps to improve my mood though I always have tears at my eyes when watching it. It is based on the novel by Anna Gavalda (Zusammen ist man weniger allein: Roman (German Edition)Просто вместе, Hunting and Gathering) It is a story of ordinary people with their problems, pains, bagage and fears. The novel as well as a film is very simple and very kind. Both the novel and the movie are beautiful. I think I found one of the music themes from the movie. It's Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto for violin.
