These little things are addictive :). I made another trinket, this time it's a cat, a Chinese symbol of 2011.
Эти маленькие вещицы захватывают. Я сделала котика, китайский символ этого года. Выкройка из Диана Креатив 1/2011.

Owl trinket #2
I made a second attempt to make the owl trinket using different fabric this time and I like it better now.

Owl trinket
I didn't feel that the laptop bag is finished until I have something hanging on the loop. So I followed the Burda instructions and made an owl trinket. I think that owl is a great choice for a laptop case because it is the symbol of wisdom and computers with Internet take place of wisdom nowadays.
The original pattern asks for loden and suede but I didn't have any so I just used some scraps that I had in stash. This is my first experience of sewing toys so the result is not that perfect but I have already received a request to make another one so I have a chance to improve my owl-sewing skills.
That's how the bag looks like with the owl.
I've got so inspired by my first experience with making toys that today I ran to the crafts shop and got some supplies for making a better version of the same trinket.

Laptop case
I needed a light and soft model of laptop case. So here is something I made for my laptop.
I used sewing instructions of this weekend bag from December 2010 issue of Burda Moden magazin. Only changed the pattern to suit my laptop measurements.

Something for the hearth
I made two small projects for the interior lately. First is a 30 cm diameter doily for a small round coffee table. Design is from the January issue of Diana Creativ magazine.
I like this pattern because it reminds me the images of Egyptian lotus flowers.

Second is a cushion pillow-case. I am so fond of the latest Ikea textile designs that I couldn't keep buying some fabric lately. That is what I call an instant gratification project *lol*. Four seams and voila, the new eye-catcher is ready. We have such a long and dull winter that I simply need something to brighten the days and add more colours around. Ikea fabrics are simply perfect for this.
I have two more pieces in stash.
