Cat trinket

These little things are addictive :). I made another trinket, this time it's a cat, a Chinese symbol of 2011.

I made a second attempt to make the owl trinket using different fabric this time and I like it better now.

Owl trinket

I didn't feel that the laptop bag is finished until I have something hanging on the loop. So I followed the Burda instructions and made an owl trinket. I think that owl is a great choice for a laptop case because it is the symbol of wisdom and computers with Internet take place of wisdom nowadays.
The original pattern asks for loden and suede but I didn't have any so I just used some scraps that I had in stash. This is my first experience of sewing toys so the result is not that perfect but I have already received a request to make another one so I have a chance to improve my owl-sewing skills.


That's how the bag looks like with the owl.



I've got so inspired by my first experience with making toys that today I ran to the crafts shop and got some supplies for making a better version of the same trinket.
